You are invited to the Hear Now Café; a peer support group for people with hearing loss, family and friends. It will be a pot luck dinner and a time of sharing how to deal with hearing loss.
Every second Monday of the month thereafter. Check website if plans have changed.
We meet in the fellowship hall of the ACCESS CHURCH 4064 South Access Road, Chattanooga, TN 37406. Near Bonny Oakes Drive and Highway 153. The fellowship hall is in the basement behind the church. It is wheelchair accessible.
The meetings are sponsored by David M. Harrison, Founder of the Lip Reading Academy and Director of Let My People Hear, Inc. Our passion is helping those who suffer hearing loss.
We create the hearing friendly atmosphere by providing an FM listening system for all to see, hear and understand everything. The system also has a tele-coil loop for those who have “T” switches in their hearing aids.
There is no charge for this exciting hearing accessible event, but you must register to let us know how many are coming. This is a potluck event. If you can bring something email or call what item you can bring. You can bring a salad, vegetable, drinks, or dessert. We will provide a meat. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 423-624-1669
We discovered that one out of every five Americans has a mild to moderate hearing loss. They are the largest special needs population with serious quality-of-life and hearing accessibility issues according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Hearing loss is called the runaway handicap because very little is being done to help them cope with their loss. In Hamilton County, there are 67,292 hearing impaired friends who need encouragement and fellowship.
